We believe that the design of today's health care facilities should have the flexibility to meet the changing needs of our delivery system and the foresight to provide a growth path for emerging technologies. Health care today is neither static nor straight forward. The interaction of design and operating efficiency must be addressed in the early planning phases. The profound effect that technology will continue to have on health care makes it particularly important that expert technical and operational advice be available to guide the evaluation, selection and implementation of complex medical systems.
GenEnCon's services constitute a synergy of talent and expertise in engineering, planning, management and coordination. We are intimately involved with the entire process from conceptual planning and design to hardware/software customization following startup. We will assist our client in evaluating the current state of the art for the systems and equipment under consideration. Where appropriate, an Analysis of Needs will be conducted to ascertain specific functional requirements and facilities provisions for the equipment. We will write comprehensive system and technical specifications including terms and conditions of purchase on behalf of our clients. These contract documents will form the basis for the solicitation of bids from qualified vendors. We will perform detailed bid analyses, negotiate on behalf of our client and provide site engineering and construction administration services to ensure that the selected vendor complies with the terms of the purchase contract. We will monitor the construction and installation process as it pertains to the systems we specified and, furthermore, we will provide design engineering services as necessary to ensure that installed systems are compatible with building facility provisions as well as in compliance with codes and standards administered by health care licensing agencies. We will also review the installing vendor's test and certification reports, training programs and start-up plans. We will assist the Owner with acceptance testing and coordination of commissioning for all systems for which we are responsible. We have also been retained to provide independent and impartial analysis (a "second opinion", if you will) or verification of the viability or feasibility of implementing a new technology, product, service or application. These services apply equally well to review of design drawings and specifications prepared by others.
We have the flexibility to tailor our services on the basis of individual needs and the accomplishment of the specific goals of our client. Individual tasks or logical groups of services can be provided as necessary to successfully complete the required assignment. Furthermore, the starting point for our services can vary depending on work that has been accomplished previously. GenEnCon will assist the healthcare facility in making a determination of the appropriate starting point and in selecting only those services that will be most beneficial and economical to the client.
